If you’re reading this, it means you’ve requested to switch to Lumo – great choice!
It usually takes 21 days to complete your switch. We’ll keep you informed every step of the way and let you know if there’s anything you need to do.
In the first few days, we’ll send you a welcome email with all the info about your Lumo tariff and Direct Debit. We’ll also contact your current energy supplier to get the ball rolling – you won’t need to contact them yourself.
Can I change my switch date?
As your switch is dictated by the energy industry, we’re unable to specify a switch date for you.
If you’re concerned about being charged exit fees, by law you have up to 49 days before the end of the contract with your current supplier, in which you can switch without being charged these fees.
What happens next?
A few days before your switch, we’ll ask for your first meter readings (so make sure you have notifications enabled on your phone). We then send your readings off to be validated and passed to your previous supplier.
Your first Lumo bill and a final bill from your old supplier, will be with you roughly 6-8 weeks later.
